ABOUT DERIK HOBBS

As an Illustrator and Designer with a decade of experience, It\'s my mission to communicate solutions that elevate brands and resonate with viewers. My proficiency is crafting compelling work that blends stylistic range and a skilled hand with collaborative design strategy. My illustration portfolio stretches from digital to traditional techniques in visual storytelling in combination with a designer\'s problem-solving and marketing angle, I strive to fit in vital roles ensuring a project finishes and sends the right message. I\'m passionate about illustrating the seen and unseen, wildlife, nature, food, illustrated maps, and scientific ideas. In my career, I\'ve cast a wide net in how my work has been applied, while I\'ve contributed editorial illustrations to a wide range of publications. I\'ve also been fortunate to collaborate on major advertising campaigns with Mountain Dew, contribute to award-winning film release packaging designs for Guillermo Del Toro, and gain accolades from the Society of Illustrators, Applied Arts, Creative Quarterly, iJungle, and Communication Arts, as well as directed and illustrated cover artwork for 2 grammy ballot nomination included albums. As well as my illustration accolades and repertoire, over the years I\'ve also been on teams as a Graphic and Print Designer. I have 9 years of experience collaborating on teams to produce graphic apparel for brands, businesses, and colleges. I\'ve worked closely with marketing and pre-production teams collaborating on designs guiding my hand from sketch to separating files for finished production.
