About Derek Wosczyna

After graduating from Moravian College in 2015 with a Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance (with minors in both Accounting and Management) and completing several internships, I began my career with UGI Energy Services ready and determined to expand my knowledge of the energy industry. I have worked at UGI Energy Services for 10 years, ultimately gaining experience in physical trading, financial trading, scheduling, natural gas operations (non-regulated gathering pipelines), optimization of transportation/storage/peaking assets, the RFP and AMA process, capacity releases, and maintaining profit and loss statements. As a Manager of Supply Planning and Procurement, I take pride in ensuring that my team and I are actively utilizing all available assets to gain the most value for our organization.

   Manage the team responsible for all long-term physical & financial natural gas trading to meet the needs of UGIES’ retail and wholesale customers across all interstate/intrastate pipelines in UGIES’ asset portfolio (AGT, EGTS, Empire, Iroquois, Millennium, National Fuel, TCO, TETCO, TGP, Transco, and multiple UGIES owned intrastate pipelines). Develop a continuous long-term financial hedging program to lock the value of UGIES’ assets when deemed optimal and present to senior management for approval and implementation. Manage UGIES’ monthly/seasonal capacity releases, developing a release schedule to optimize the value of UGIES’ physical assets in the short/mid-term. Lead the team responsible for all NYMEX trading, ensuring timely and accurate hedging across all UGIES assets. Direct the analysis and preparation of UGIES’ responses to RFP’s and open seasons to help grow UGIES’ retail, wholesale, and peaking business.
