ABOUT DEREK TASSONE
Hello! My name is Derek Tassone. I am the Research and Data Manager for the Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM.I am a graduate of the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), where I obtained an MA in Jewish History. Before that, I attended Georgetown University where I majored in Government and History with a minor in Jewish Civilization.My interest in antisemitism began in Fall 2019 after I took a class entitled “History of Antisemitism.” Ever since I have sought to utilize my open-source research, writing, and communication skills to fight the “world’s oldest hatred.”First with the ADL Florida Division, and then with the ADL’s Center on Extremism, I developed my open-source research skills, later honing them with the State Department’s Office of the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism (SEAS).As a graduate student I was awarded the Israel Goldstein Prize in May 2023 for a paper examining the 38 CE anti-Jewish riot in Alexandria to investigate whether it was the “first pogrom.” Additionally, in Spring 2023 I undertook an independent research project that considered the overlooked Overman Committee as playing a part in the dissemination of the “Protocol of the Elders of Zion” and the mainstreaming of the conspiracy theory that Jews were responsible for communist revolutions.
