ABOUT DEREK LEE
Started my career working in the Oil & Gas industry for ~2.5 years as a Structural Designer. Now, I’m a Structural Engineer-in-Training with a combined ~3 years of internship/industry experience in construction and field. I have helped companies during the construction phase to drive alignment on safety, project progression, and schedule. Some examples include: As a Structural Engineer-in-Training at RJC Engineers, I performed field reviews while managing construction administration requirements (RFIs and shop drawings) to ensure that construction meets engineered intent. As a Project Support Co-op Student at Imperial Oil, I worked with the Project Management Group to support the execution of 9 different projects at the Strathcona Refinery (total capital of $2.9M). As a Structural Designer at Acero Engineering, I utilized AutoCAD and CADWorx to develop IFC drawing packages for EPC projects. I get excited about opportunities where I see construction projects being built from the ground up!
