Kai Films was created because of the passion for storytelling that has embodied Derek Johnson\'s life since he was born. After many years of working as the BTS still guy on Film and TV productions, Derek started to get assignments and produce Film and video projects for clients around the country. Derek is currently working with an array of clients to produce motion projects and also writing and directing original content. Derek is currently working with an array of clients to deliver motion projects and also writing and directing original content. We use traditional filmmaking techniques such as; dynamic camera angles and beautifully crafted lighting to create your films. Short form video creation is one of our specialties. For example, we create a lot of short-form video through animating still images. Using still photography we generate motion pieces such as a timelapse, gif or Cinemagraph. We gravitate towards traditional ways of manipulating images on a screen with simple green screen or layering effects. Our DP’s and directors work together to capture most scenes on camera. We work hard with you to make your story shine thru above anything else.We are professional storytellers that create dynamic content for independent films, corporate videos, and short form animations. We spend quality time with our clients methodically organizing their ideas into a plan of action. We then assemble our crew and entirely produce projects from concept, to shoot and then into a fully edited piece ready for publication. Short form video content is a wonderfully visual process, that results in dynamic content to help tell your story, that\'s why we became pros at it.
