Fourteen years in banking technology has taught me that the best IT projects aren\'t just about getting the technology right, they\'re about understanding how people work and making sure the solution actually delivers value when it matters most.I\'ve built my career managing the kind of projects that can\'t afford to fail. When Lloyds Banking Group needed to implement enterprise-wide malware protection across Windows, Unix, Linux, and ATM estates, I coordinated the multi-million-pound programme. When they needed to migrate thousands of Windows servers without any downtime, I made sure it happened seamlessly. At Unilever, I managed what was recognised as the world\'s third-largest SharePoint deployment.What I\'ve learned is that successful delivery isn\'t just about technical expertise – though I\'ve got plenty of that across Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms, and cyber security. It\'s about managing the complexity that comes with regulatory requirements, multiple vendors, offshore teams, and stakeholders who all have different priorities. I\'ve managed teams of up to 15 people across different time zones, coordinated with C-level executives, and kept projects moving when everything seems to be working against you.My approach is straightforward: understand what the business actually needs, build a plan that accounts for the inevitable complications, and keep everyone focused on delivery whilst managing the risks that could derail everything. Whether I\'m implementing security solutions across multi-cloud environments or managing server estate modernisation programmes, I focus on making complex technology work for people, not the other way around.Currently looking for my next challenge where I can bring this combination of technical depth and practical project management to help organisations tackle their most critical IT transformations. After 14 years in banking, I understand what it takes to deliver technology projects that actually stick and create lasting value.Always interested in connecting with fellow project managers and IT professionals who understand that the best technical solutions are the ones that solve real business problems.
