About Derek McVay
I earned my mechanical engineering PhD at the University of California, Irvine working at the National Fuel Cell Research Center. I studied chemical energy storage from renewable sources by means of reversible high temperature electrochemical cells. My Master\'s thesis focused on integrating an absorption chiller with a fuel cell system for the combined generation of power, hydrogen, heating, and cooling. I completed my B.S. at the University of Virginia in 2012 in mechanical engineering, with distinction.
