Derek graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering. He grew up in Denver, Colorado and spent almost 6 years in Corpus Christi, Texas before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area to study at UC Berkeley. Since then he\'s been working in the construction industry and has a passion for creating great buildings that serve the community and help better and advance society.Derek loves music. He played Alto Saxophone in the Cal Marching Band and currently still plays in his free time. He has a passion for leadership and connecting with people, and loves working in a collaborative environment. He believes that great leadership will inspire others to make a difference in the world, their communities and even their own lives. He currently serves as a member of the American Heart Association Leadership Team in the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter. In his free time he loves to enjoy a great glass of wine, spend time with friends and family and travel!Derek is EIT certified.
