About Derek Zacarias
Derek brings 15 years of experience in investment banking across a wide array of industries. Since joining DAK, Derek has led transactions across a diverse set of industries, including industrial manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, pet products, telehealth, material handling, chemicals, business services and workplace technologies, among others.Prior to joining DAK, Derek was as a Director with Perella Weinberg Partners (PWP), a diversified Boutique Investment Bank, both their New York office and as a founding member of their Chicago office. During his tenure at PWP, Derek worked on wide range of M&A, capital structure advisory, and strategic advisory transactions representing deal value in excess of $20 billion.Most recently, Derek was a member of the Global Industrials team with broad responsibilities covering the Automotive and the broader Industrial sector. Previously, he was a member of the Technology, Media and Telecom team with a particular emphasis on Media & Entertainment for PWP. Illustrative clients include Motorola, Discovery Communications, Lionsgate Entertainment, Massey Knakal Realty Services, Valiant Entertainment, Merck, Sprout Pharmaceuticals and Garret Motion.Derek holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Business from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.Derek is an avid world traveler where he loves to practice his photography, hike, and spend time with his wife and daughter.
