ABOUT DEREK P.

After graduating USC with a degree in City Planning and Real Estate Development, Derek Purcell began his mortgage career in 1993 as an underwriter with World Savings and Loan.Working his way through the next 15 years at World Savings exposed him to a variety of jobs including Appraiser, Retail Loan Officer, Underwriter, Loan Auditor and Wholesale Account Executive. Seeking his next personal career frontier, Derek has now taken a position as a Mortgage Insurance Account Manager for RADIAN.During his wholesale career at World Savings/Wachovia Derek consistently won the title of Top Producer in both dollar fundings and number of loans in Orange County. This gained him national recognition and title of Assistant Vice-President at World Savings/Wachovia Bank.After the collapse of World Savings/Wachovia in 2008, Derek continued to support his loan officer colleagues working as a Wholesale Manager and Account Executive at various lending sources including Pacific Mercantile Bank and Kinecta Federal Credit Union.Derek recounts,\"After Kinecta Federal Credit Union and Broadview Mortgage shut down their wholesale lending channels recently, I finally understood that I could better serve my mortgage industry connections working at a mortgage insurance company. I wanted to work at the best company in the business, so I sought out Radian Guaranty Inc.
