Derek now works at Silverchair Information Systems as the Lead Architect and is also a founder of Three Notch\'d Brewing Company.Derek worked as a senior I.T. Consultant with Singlestone Consultancy for 8 and 1/2 years. Within this company, he was part of teams of all sizes, serving many different roles. His ability to come up to speed quickly on new technologies and business requirements distinguished him among his peers. Derek is a proven reliable team member, who is always willing to teach and mentor, as well as learn. He has performed as a leader on several client engagements at the same time leading 5-10 team members, which hones his leadership and multi-tasking skills.With a background in the Service Industry, bartending, waiting tables and managing restaurants of all sizes and quality, Derek has excellent communication skills enabling him to fit in to a team of any size. In addition to an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland, he also holds a Diploma in Computer Programming from Portobello College, Ireland and is a Sun Certified Java Developer, a Microsoft Certified Application Developer and is a Certified SCRUM Master.
