Accomplished Engineering Manager | Port Engineering | 20+ Years Experience A results-driven Engineering Manager with a proven track record in optimizing port engineering and leading high-performing teams. With over two decades of hands-on experience in the port industry, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership skills.Working under the Head of Engineering for Scottish ports, I mentor a team consisting of - Technical Engineer & Compliance Lead, Reliability Centred Maintenance Planner, 2 Engineering Supervisors, 20 engineers, 4 apprentices and team of site based Civil Contractors.In mentoring and leading my team I am expected to have a high level of working knowledge on internal policies and procedures, covering HR and H&S.I am responsible for the management, maintenance and repair of all port plant, equipment and infrastructure.Key Port assets include;1. 8 MVA Electrical Network 2. Lock Gate Infrastructure and Impounding Pump System 3. 3x Liebherr Ship to Shore Container Cranes 4. 500kW PV installation5. 16x Kalmar Diesel Electric Straddle Carriers6. Sq ft. or Warehousing 7. Extensive water and drainage infrastructure for own and tenant useThroughout my career, I have lead transformative initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability within port engineering. My knowledge spans across infrastructure development, maintenance, and process optimization. Working closely with our Port stakeholders, my role focuses on operational and energy efficiencies through wider adoption of mature and evolving technologies. I also manage key opex and capex projects from scoping, through execution and effective close out. I strive to deliver tangible results that exceed operational goals.
