ABOUT DEREK M. MCDOUGALL
A native Californian, Derek grew up in the beach town of Santa Cruz. He was recruited by the University of California San Diego as a sought-after student athlete, graduating with a degree in Economics with Provost Honors.Since he began his career in financial management, Derek has been recognized with numerous awards and achievements. He started at MassMutual Financial Group and quickly moved into a leadership position. From there, Derek used his financial planning background along with his training experience to transition to high level leadership positions at AXA Advisors and The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. Derek then decided to take his experience and open his own firm. Derek envisions One San Diego as a place where advisors can put the client first with flexibility, transparency, and access industry-leading technology. As a testament, many of his clients have referred their family members to him along with their friends.
