I am currently responsible for the Operation and Monitoring of a Mammalian (CHO) based 20k Liter Bioreactor/Purification suite producing a proprietary recombinant fusion protein ( Orphan Drug API ) for use as an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient to treat a rare Genetic Bone Disorder. Equipment includes: GE Xcellerex (50L),(200L),(500L) Single use Reactor Systems, 5K Liter Bioreactor, 20K Liter Bioreactor, 25K Liter Harvest Tank, Depth Filtration skids,(1-3 Meter) Pall Chromatography Columns/Skids (AFFINITY-HIC-ION EXCHANGE) resins, Millipore UF/DF Skids all linked together with Emerson DELTA V Plant-Wide Control System (PWCS) Automation driven by SYNCADE eBR (electronic Batch Record System) supported by SAP material management. Activities include: Inoculation, Harvest, UF/DF, Pre-Viral Purification, Virus inactivation, Planova Nanofiltration Virus Removal /Post-Viral Purification, training of new employees, work orders and shift exchange. I also participated in process validations for suite regulatory approval.
