About Derek Ing
Hello, I am Derek, and I am a rising senior at Caltech studying Computer Science and Information & Data Science. I enjoy solving complex problems with technology, and I am passionate about designing and building great software! In addition, I am a fast learner and excel in collaborative environments.I was a Software Development Engineer Intern at Amazon, where I updated data pipelines and frontend UI for Amazon Fresh\'s Pre-Reservation Widget. Previously, I worked at a start-up doing data science/ML and did applied ML research at Caltech\'s Astronomy Department. Personally, I have played soccer competitively since I was about 5 years old and I am now the captain of Caltech\'s varsity soccer team. I also enjoy playing and watching many other sports and going to the gym. In addition, I like playing video games like FIFA, and I have recently developed an interest in chess. I also love eating and cooking!
