About Derek Bensinger

Starting as far back as I can remember I was fortunate to learn hands-on mechanical, construction, and renovation skills with my family at our home and our shop (My parents own and operate an antique vehicle parts retail and restoration business). I expanded my knowledge of construction, architecture, and engineering in high school and college. I worked through college with two different General Contractors which helped me build my knowledge and skill sets in Construction Management. In June 2013 I graduated with 1-2 years of experience in the industry and a Bachelors Degree in Architectural Engineering and a minor in Construction Management. I began full-time post-collegiate employment as a Level 1 Field Engineer with Turner Construction in the Philadelphia area. My first assignment is the Ambulatory Care Center at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. This is the largest project I have ever been on, and I\'m very excited about the job. My experience here is in the field working directly to assist the project superintendents and managers. I love working in the construction industry and getting to not only see, but help turn architectural plans into reality.

   Superintendent (March 2017 - Present) • Oversee and manage process of new construction and fit-out construction projects. • Execute Quality Assessment and Control inspections and review project on daily basis to monitor progress and adherence to project schedule. • Manage deliveries of equipment and material for all trades on site. • Actively monitor and maintain general and site-specific safety precautions on a daily basis. • Communicate daily with subcontractors and project team to resolve problems and complete project tasks.
