ABOUT DEREJE TEFERA SIYUM
I’m a Double Board-Certified Physician in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine, working as a hospitalist with Advocate Aurora Health. Over the years, I’ve become equally passionate about the technology behind healthcare. That led me to complete a Master’s in Health Informatics at Boston University and certification as an Epic Physician Builder. I enjoy taking messy clinical workflows and turning them into tools that make life easier for providers and safer for patients.I also completed the Augment MBA Certificate, which strengthened my understanding of leadership, strategy, and how to build meaningful, patient-centered healthcare solutions.My goal is to help create and advocate for a healthcare system that is more proactive, preventive, and accessible, especially for people struggling with chronic and cardiometabolic diseases. I believe technology, empathy, and strong clinical medicine can come together to make a real difference.
