ABOUT DENYS CHERNENKO

SUMMARYI am an individual that is passionate about researching and gaining knowledge through various challenges. I have learned a great deal in my prior experience. I am highly motivated and grasp new concepts quickly, I love to learn and offer the personal drive, skills and confidence to succeed. I am proficient at collaborating with others and I execute well according to plan. In my position as a Health Information Management Specialist I continually met and surpassed organizational expectations. I was exposed to many functions of the Medical Records Department including NACRS coding and abstraction, chart assembly, quality assurance, consulting with medical staff and being Acting Supervisor of the Department. The ability to handle tasks through MS Office and being detail-oriented are crucial in the Government’s work environment. This was an amazing organizational and multi-tasking experience, I was given a high level of independence while balancing Department functioning and training employees. My strong problem-solving and time management skills were developed during my student placement with the MedEKS Technologies. Throughout the 9 months, I was involved in developing a highly-functional computer assisted coding tool by mapping coding standards, directives, CIHI queries, and data quality triggers at the ICD-10 CA and CCI code level. Along with 12 other students, I mapped several thousands of codes. I was hired by MedEKS right after I completed the 224 hours of standard placement time. Also, I have initiated multiple improvements related to data collection processes which immediately improved the quality of collected information. Furthermore, the schedules were extremely tight during the exam period, which enhanced my ability to work under pressure.
