About Dennis L. Robinson
If I had to credit one thing with placing me where I am in my career after more than 40 years of work it would be an insatiable desire to learn. It has been that one theme throughout my life and career that never changed. I have never stopped seeking knowledge. In my early 20s after having worked in manual labor jobs since high school, I decided I wanted to do photography for a living. In a time before the internet, I taught myself photography. Ten years later I left a prosperous studio career to accept a university position as a Biomedical Photographer. I landed the position at a research 1 university with a high school diploma based on the quality of my portfolio. After that there was no looking back. Over the next 30 years, I continued to learn, both in school and in work. I started with no degree and so far have earned 4 degrees, including a Doctorate and 2 Masters Degrees. I have lived in the time of some of the most exciting changes in history. I brought my love of photography and media into the digital age and added knowledge of new technologies to that knowledge. I migrated into a more technical area within higher education and learned new skills. Technology has become a key interest over my lifetime and I am excited to learn about every new development! This has all led me to now. Without a plan to do so, in seeking the knowledge I did, I prepared myself for a career in a field that didn\'t exist when I started, Online Education. The combination of experience with digital media, technology, and my 4 degrees in the field of education brought me to this place and I am so pleased to be here. I am always looking at new technology from the perspective of how it will affect learning and am still excited for new developments. Holography, Wearables, Internet of things.How will all of these things and things yet unheard of affect our learning and our lives? I plan to hang around as long as I can to see for myself!

I am excited to be in a new position at Lindsey Wilson College. I am now responsible for establishing and maintaining a high level of quality and support for our online programs. My goal is to take our online instruction to the next level through providing exemplary Instructional Design and Technology Services to our programs and faculty. I have dreamed of having a more Instructional focus and the time to put into researching and providing the technology to make or programs truly interactive with an eye toward incorporating gamification.
