About Dennis McNannay
Over the last thirteen years, I\'ve been deeply involved with various aspects of the healthcare system. During that time, I developed a passion for medical breakthroughs—from new device implants to next-generation biologics—that drive this dynamic market. More recently, however, my family was touched by the challenge of medication adherence; this dramatically changed my priorities and convinced me to found my start-up, Curadite. Pronounced cure-uh-dee-tay (Italian for \"to care for\"), its mission is to provide a low cost, ubiquitous solution for medication adherence. Whether battling life threatening illnesses, coping with chronic disease or seeking solutions that support aging in place, millions of American families must manage their personal medication regimens. Unlike hospital-based clinical care, family members often find themselves acting as their own \"medical experts\". Without formal training, and using extremely crude existing technologies (think plastic pillboxes), patients often feel as though they are fighting a losing battle. With the advent of technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), this no longer needs to be the case. Curadite fuses recent wireless communication breakthroughs with intelligent medication packaging to provide a low-cost, disposable medication adherence platform to support patients, caregivers and institutions, thus enabling all members of the patient\'s \"circle of care\" to better manage their health. In an age of geographic separation, patients and their caregivers often feel isolated and overwhelmed. Curadite is building new, more connected networks of care.
