I am currently Director of Alternative Investments and Portfolio Manager at Merriman. My primary job these days is the lead portfolio manager of a global macro hedge fund. Previously, I served as Director of Research and Chief Investment Officer at Merriman responsible for Merriman\'s overall investment approach including proactively improving investment programs, overseeing research and portfolio management activities, and developing new investment solutions when needed. Starting in June 2015, I\'ve been sporadically writing a blog on trading asset classes at From I was a nationally-recognized expert in the field of electric propulsion, with a focus on research, development, plasma physics, testing, system engineering, and mission analysis. I won numerous awards and authored/coauthored over 25 conference papers, journal articles and patents in the field. I also made countless presentations at conferences and technical interchange meetings. My favorite team accomplishment was actively participating in the highly successful development of the Aerojet thruster.
