ABOUT DENNIS TEEGARDEN

Teacher/Coach for 40 years.My overall goal is to be a head high school football coach. I am willing to relocate and have been applying to schools in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. I am a very passionate and enthusiastic coach with quality coaching experience. I know given the opportunity the results will be extremely positive.I have taught architectural and mechanical drafting, engine mechanics, woods technology, weight training and team sports. I currently work at the Elkhart Area Career Center, a division of the Elkhart Community Schools, teaching Construction Technology. We build an 1800 sq. ft. ranch style house every year with 16-18 year old students.All my coaching experience is at the high school level. I have coached as an assistant coach in boys basketball and football. I have been the head coach of boys and girls track as well as boys golf. Most of my coaching experience is in football were I have been the Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, and Special Teams Coordinator. As a position coach I have coached linebackers, defensive backs, running backs and receivers, but most of my time has been as a quarterbacks coach. I am currently Assistant Head Coach, Offensive and Special Teams Coordinator at Saint Joseph High School in South Bend Indiana (on the southern edge of the University of Notre Dame campus).I was a 5 year player for Indiana State University (19••••82), a Division 1A (BCS) program at that time, as a placekicker. I was a 4 year letterman and 2 year starter. I was a walk-on player who earned a scholarship after my third year. I was voted team tri-captain my senior year and was Honorable Mention All-Missouri Valley Conference.
