About Dennis Pecchia

Mr. Pecchia is a registered professional engineer with over 40 years of structural design; plans, specifications, and estimates (PS & E); and construction experience. He is responsible for project management; supervising engineering and CAD staff; design of bridge, retaining wall, sound wall, and other transportation related structures; construction support services; and business development. Management activities include identifying, assigning, and monitoring work tasks; engineering cost control; project scheduling using MS Project and Primavera P3; coordination and working with subconsultants; and client liaison. Types of bridge projects range from new, replacement, rehabilitation, widening, strengthening, to seismic retrofit. Mr. Pecchia\'s experience also encompasses gravity, cantilever, soil nail, tie-back, and mechanically stabilized embankment retaining wall systems and concrete and masonry sound walls. Responsibilities include: structure preliminary design and Advance Planning Studies; seismic field investigations, evaluation screenings, and Seismic Retrofit Strategy Reports; General Plan and Type Selection Report preparation; final design; and PS & E; quality control; contractor shop drawing review; falsework checks; and construction inspection and engineering support. Additionally, Mr. Pecchia has recent experience with preparing Bridge Preventative Maintenance Programs (BPMPs) and Scour Plan of Actions (POAs) for various local agencies. With Regard to funding, Mr. Pecchia has extensive experience with securing project funds through the federal Highway Bridge Program (HBP) and recent changes enacted to that program under the Surface Transportation Program (STP) and National Highway Performance Program (NHPP) of the federal Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21).
