ABOUT DENNIS G.

With over 18 years of professional experience, my role as a Supervising Engineer WR is to provide construction engineering and construction management services for the California Department of Water Resources. My primary function is the oversight and support of the Levee Repair Project Headquarters’s staff and their respective construction contracts. Primary tasks also include project and construction management/administrative services, field coordination, and geotechnical data review and evaluation. Relevant Construction Management experience includes the Lower Elkhorn Bypass Levee Setback (LEBLS) Project, and most recently the Yolo Bypass Salmonid Habitat Restoration & Fish Passage (Big Notch)Project. Additional tasks include construction feasibility review and construction oversight services, civil design recommendations, and ground improvement services that includes soil stabilization methods (lime treatment), compaction and permeation grouting, cement deep soil mixing (CDSM) methods, and deep foundations. Relevant experience include engineering and construction oversight of blasting demolition, Portland cement concrete (PCC), and roller compacted concrete (RCC) operations during the Oroville Dam Spillways Emergency Recovery and Restoration Project; Quality Assurance services for the Perris Dam Seismic Remediation Project; Quality Control services for aqueduct repairs for the California State Water Project; the construction management of quality assurance services for the Natomas Levee Improvement Program; pavement overlay design recommendations for various cities in California; pavement distress surveying for the 2005 update of the Caltrans Airport Pavement Management System. I also assisted in several engineering investigations pertaining to the observation of current pavement/structural condition for the City of West Sacramento and Sacramento County, and provided technical inspection during pavement construction for the City of Elk Grove. Other experience includes: graduate school coursework, which includes micromechanics of civil engineering materials, lime stabilization, bituminous materials, foundation design on expansive soils, stabilization of soil-aggregate systems, structural and system design of pavements.
