Dennis Floyd Jones

Dr. Jones established youthenrichmentservices.org as a community-based grassroots practical laboratory in 1994. In that role, he conducts research about building the capacity of young kids through Peer Mentoring, to embrace an empowerment model that prepares them for the technologically laden, social media heavy, data-driven society in which they must learn to compete for careers in the careers of the future. Over his impressive career spanning 25 years as the Progenitor of YES, Dr. Jones has trained and certified of 3,500 teens as peer mentors, from rural West Virginia Communities of Charleston, Bluefield, and Fairmont to Urban communities within the Pittsburgh Region. Project YES, has won National Awards- Bush Points of Light,(1990 Charleston and 1991 Wheeling) Regional, and Local Awards, most recently 2018, Community Leadership, and 2019 Community in Action, both Awards are Merit Based and highly competitive.
