ABOUT DENNIS BACON

Following a successful career in corporate and commercial banking (19••••94), I decided to become self-employed in order to further develop my skills and learning, and to be able to take greater control over my future. Over a 10 year period - between 1994/5 and 2004/5 - I was responsible for building the largest specialised health and social care group in Norfolk, initially as CFO before assuming the role of CEO. The group picked up regional and national awards for quality and innovation.In 1998 I was elected to lead the independent sector in Norfolk, bringing together more than 600 health and social care providers, employing circa staff. This in turn led to me becoming a key contributor to system leadership work, including; NHS QIPP, strategic overview project streams (mental health improvement) and as an executive member of the STP for the Norfolk & Waveney footprint. During the initial implementation of Norfolk’s joint commissioning strategy (bringing together health and social care), I was responsible for the design and delivery of system leadership master classes to professional officers across joint commissioning bodies.I have contributed to various groups as an advisor on organisational culture and integration and as a published author for various thought leadership articles associated with leadership/culture. These have been published in the national press, health sector journals, social media and also appearing on television as an expert on health and social care leadership/culture.I am currently building a team of exceptional professionals who care deeply about improving outcomes across public services, through advanced tech and a deep understanding of organisational culture.
