ABOUT DENIZ OVA
Deniz Ova is a creative manager who passionately builds cultural infrastructure. By embracing opportunities to cultivate new ideas in the creative industries, she offers unique strategies and perspectives for the transformation of cultural institutions and projects. Deniz has a track record in working between design and different artistic disciplines with a strong network of experienced partners. While efficiently navigating stakeholder relations with public and private industries, she developed alternative managing and financial models. In her work she prioritises programmes that offer cutting-edge experiences and active exchange for audiences. Deniz believes in collaborative practices and creative methods responding to the contemporary urgent issues.Currently she is the Executive Director of the Cultural Institution Salt foundered by Garanti BBVA. Previously she was directing the Istanbul Design Biennial, organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts. Deniz has been leading the biennial to become an acclaimed international design event with strong roots in Istanbul, Turkey. She cultivated strategic partnerships in Turkey and the world with stakeholders such as museums, cultural institutes, academia, embassies and businesses while initiating robust revisions of the departments’ governance and management.
