About Denizhan Yavas
Ph.D. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering with a strong background in static and dynamic structural analysis, fracture and fatigue analysis, failure and damage analysis, and material science. Expertise in FEA codes (ABAQUS/Comsol Multi-physics/MSC-NASTRAN/PATRAN) and math modeling (MATLAB/Mathematica). Experienced in working on NASA-funded projects and proficient in the mechanical and fracture characterization of novel engineering materials, including aerospace composite structures. Proven experience in a wide range of experimental diagnostic tools, such as hydraulic/electro-mechanical universal testing frames, digital image correlation, nanoindentation, scanning electron microscopy, surface metrology, and atomic force microscopy, as well as in designing and building custom experimental setups. Expert in non-destructive evaluation methods including flash Vibro-Thermography and Eddy Current. Hands-on experience in additive manufacturing of thermoplastics, metals, and ceramics. Hands-on experience in Microfabrication in a clean room. Skilled in the atomic simulation of material microstructures (LAMMPS). Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in teams.
