   Clark is a public, charter high school that is part of Indian River State College. Clark is a small community with 250 students in grades 10th - 12th. As the Career Coordinator, I coach students on career decision-making, job searches, college applications, and anything they need related to their career planning.Perhaps the largest part of my role is to coordinate the Senior Internship Program. Students are required to complete a 60-hour Internship prior to graduation. I work with students to find community business partners in career fields of interest to them and work with the business partners to provide targeted career experiences for the students.Specific Accomplishments:• Brought a career development mindset to Clark by structuring services on a foundation of career development theory and expanding offerings.• Instituted annual recognition of Career Development Month which had never been celebrated at Clark. Each year I develop programs for the month to provide students with opportunities to explore career options and to network with community business partners. Events have included panel discussions on specific career fields, guest speakers who present in individual classes that match their jobs, the ASVAB Career Program, and Military Career Fairs.• Introduced Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and other career assessments to assist students with career planning.• Created Intern of the Year award to recognize the outstanding work being done by Clark Seniors through their Internships. Students are nominated by their business partners.• Introduced technological resources including MyInternshipJournal, online assessment administrations, and a CRM system to streamline and enhance work with students.
