About Denise Taylor

I spend my days working to leverage both shiny new technologies and trusty low-tech outreach to inform, serve and engage the residents of Somerville, MA-\"the best run city\" in Massachusetts as noted by The Boston Globe. I oversee both traditional communications functions including PR, events, website, and emergency communications as well as social media, new media, City Cable TV, creative and data-driven civic engagement initiatives, and immigrant outreach. Participation in policy development and the opportunity to innovate at the municipal level are bonuses of the job. Everything I guide my department to do is aimed at increasing resident interaction with local government whether by connecting residents (all residents including the traditionally underserved) to needed services and information or engaging the community in discussions, decision-making and community events.because it takes a \'Ville.
