ABOUT DENISE TURNER

Denise Turner has cultivated a career within the non-profit/public sector. She is skilled in project management, family advocacy, community development, and program capacity building. Denise has experience with global, national, county and city-wide initiatives, for neighborhood/community and grassroots organizations. Having earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Public Management and Policy Analysis, Denise contributes to several governing bodies and stakeholder groups.Previously, Denise provided subject matter expertise as a Program Coordinator for the City of Oakland\'s Human Services Department. Her specialization for the department is in Child Health, Nutrition, and Socio-emotional Development (prenatal and birth through age five) as well as Facilities, Environmental Safety and Emergency Preparedness.Recently, as a nationally certified Health and Safety Instructor for the American Red Cross in the Northern California region, she facilitated certification training and proctored examinations for Professional Rescuers, Healthcare personnel, Childcare Facility Owners and Operators, as well as courses for companies and community members. Previously in Atlanta, Georgia, she served as project manager for the Global Programs Division of Habitat for Humanity International among other rewarding posts.
