Using research-based approaches, we work globally and in focus countries to meet people’s essential needs; to protect and restore nature; and to stabilize the climate and build more resilient communities. We aim to fundamentally transform the way the world produces food, uses energy and designs its cities to create a better future for all. We work across several topics affecting people, nature and the climate. A key part of our theory of change involves forging trusted partnerships with governments, businesses, research organizations, civil society groups and others to bring the right change-makers together. In addition to global initiatives and a coordinated regional presence in Africa and Europe, we prioritize work in 12 focus countries: Brazil, China, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and the United States.At WRI\'s Global Restoration Insitute, I get to work with talented people who are driven, focused, and passionate about changing how we interact with, and impact our world. Whether it\'s restoring forests and land, oceans and rivers, improving transportation\'s impact on climate, or indeed empowering people through true capacity building (don\'t just say it - do it!), WRI has a true mission for change. My current focus is overseeing our $100M Restore Local initiative across Africa while also supporting 20x20 Programs in Latin America. I work across our US, LAM and Africa teams to drive excellence in operational, financial, and talent management. What\'s not to love about all that? Working with GRI leaders who are as passionate about their internal talent as they are about our external mission is a special experience to behold.
