ABOUT DENISE M. BERGER
Results-driven executive with deep experience in strategy, advisory service’s, transformation, and operations. Demonstrated success in developing and executing long-and short-term business plans that drive revenue growth, enhance employee engagement, and elevate client satisfaction.Denise joined AECOM DCSA in February 2020 as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Northeast, which includes New York Metro. She went on to serve as Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer (CSIO) for the U.S. East Region, including Latin America, where she led growth, strategy, and execution for priority accounts. Today, as Senior Vice President, she is focused on driving growth in key targeted areas, including digital transformation and ESG - across multiple business sectors, including Transportation, Program Management, Water, Buildings + Places, Environment, and Energy.Previously, Denise was Chief of Operations for the Engineering Department at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), where she led transformative strategic programs such as integrated project delivery, virtual design and construction, and Design-Build. She managed the day-to-day operations of a 550+ member department, overseeing a $1.3 billion annual budget, and spearheaded numerous large-scale capital projects, including the redevelopment of Newark Airport and the World Trade Center Master Plan.In 2016, she founded the PANYNJ Women’s Council and continues to serve on several boards, including Columbia University and New York Institute of Technology’s advisory boards, as well as trustee of the ACE Mentor Program Foundation and Women’s Builder Council.Denise has been widely recognized for her leadership and contributions to the industry, including: • WTS “Woman of the Year” (2019) • Fellow, International Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (2020) • Inductee, National Academy of Construction (2021) • Named among the top women in Design, Architecture, and Construction by Crain’s Magazine (2022) • Recognized as a Top Women Leader in NY by Women We Admire (2024)
