NONPROFIT: Founder & Chair, Avenida de Colores 501c3, Sarasota Chalk Festival 2007, Going Vertical Program 2011, Anna Maria Chalk Festival 2014, Floralia Infiorata 2014. The 1st international pavement art festival in the US. The 2011 event attracted 500 artists & over visitors. Kowal was the first foreign judge of the first pavement art festival in Italy. Notably one of the most important contemporary street painting venues in the world, debuted the most breakthroughs in the art form & hosted the largest number of 3D installations. This Nov. 8-10, 2024 the festival will be held in Sarasota FL. STAKEHOLDER: Owner (28 years) of the mixed-use Historic Herald Square building that is a landmark building in the Burns Square, downtown Sarasota. Graduate of the SmartCode, Asset Based Community Development, Gulf Coast Leadership and Congress of New Urbanism. Past President Burns Square Property Owners & Merchant Assoc, organizer of 2 charrettes, master plan for the area and the catalyst that preserved property rights of over 50 property owners. Secured public projects for the area resulting in several million dollars of improvements.
