ABOUT DENICE OCHOLA
I’ve spent the last ten years working across public health, philanthropy, and research—leading strategy, supporting community partnerships, and pushing for more equitable systems. Equity and a commitment to practical, lasting change are at the heart of everything I do. I’ve worked within and alongside grassroots organizations, city agencies, philanthropic institutions, and academic teams to advance equity-focused initiatives. My work spans capacity building, performance evaluation, and strategy development—always with an eye toward systems change and the communities most affected by inequity. In my doctoral research, I focus on reducing chronic disease disparities among Black men. That work builds on my broader interest in community health, racial justice, and the social determinants that shape our lives far beyond the doctor’s office. What drives me is simple: people come first. I care more about impact than optics, and I’m committed to showing up with honesty, integrity, and a deep respect for the communities most affected by inequity.
