The Executive Director is responsible for identifying science provisioning needs of the Chesapeake Bay restoration effort and facilitating the meeting of those needs, via convening of managers and provisioners of science and resourcing collaborative multi-disciplinary, multi-institution research projects. She also works with the CRC Board of Trustees on issues of capacity building within three areas: 1) the environmental professional pipeline (through the EMDP and C-StREAM programs), 2) organizational development of both the CRC and its individual members through interdisciplinary and multi-institutional network building, and 3) acting as a pro-active liaison between the research and management communities to ensure transfer of science to inform and guide science-based management and policy in the region.
