About Devante M. Montgomery

De\'Vante Malik Montgomery was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, and proudly holds a Bachelor\'s degree in Political Science from Miami University, earned in 2019.Mr. Montgomery has been dedicated to political and community activism since the age of 15. His advocacy has encompassed a wide range of issues, including fair and affordable housing, environmental conservation, the protection of the rights of marginalized communities in Southwest Ohio. Mr. Montgomery also served as a junior delegate to the 2012 Democratic National Convention for former US President Barack H. Obama.In 2016, Mr. Montgomery was elected the youngest delegate from Ohio to the Democratic National Convention, representing former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Miami University honored him with the Student Service Award in recognition of his commitment to campus activism, particularly his efforts to combat racism and antisemitism.From 2019 to 2020, Mr. Montgomery served as a Development Fellow at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in New York City. In this role, he engaged with prospective stakeholders, communicated the organization\'s mission, and advocated for the importance of strengthening the U.S-Israel relationship—all while helping to secure donor support.In 2021, durning the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Montgomery briefly relocated back to Ohio and became the Office Manager at H Venture Partners, a Cincinnati-based venture capital firm specializing in seed, venture, and early growth equity investments in consumer products and devices.In 2022, following the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned to New York City and worked as a Research Manager in the Client Services division at Guidepoint Global, where he focused on serving private equity clients.Shortly thereafter, Mr. Montgomery pursued his lifelong aspiration of working in the legal field and joined Weber Gallagher Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP as a Litigation Paralegal. In this role, he supported a broad range of cases, including those involving retail and commercial litigation, professional liability, insurance and reinsurance, general liability, product liability, workers\' compensation, and labor law.Mr. Montgomery currently continues his legal career as a Legal Assistant at Kennedys CMK LLP, where he assists the Insurance Defense, Cyber, and Coverage practice groups.He is the proud parent of Azula, a blue-nose pit bull, and resides in New York City. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, studying Torah, and is a member of the New York Urban League of Young Professionals.
