As an inpatient rehab occupational therapist I conduct comprehensive patient evaluations based on a physician’s orders, collaborate with patients to create a personalized treatment plan catered to their functional needs, implement therapeutic interventions and adapt them accordingly, participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to assess patients’ progress during rehab therapy, instruct/educate patients and their families on adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques, and lastly, create a discharge plan along with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the patient has all of their needs met after their hospital stay has ended.
