About Demian G.
Long time sysadmin gone cloud-native.I have worked in the tech industry a long time, in roles such as Systems Administrator, Penetration Tester, and Software Engineer and most recently have dedicated my time to helping customers to bring their work and businesses up to speed in the Cloud.I have a deep interest in cybersecurity and make sure that it is woven into everything I build. Working as a penetration tester taught me that even systems that are maintained and updated can still be flawed if care is not taken to build and configure them in a way that takes security into account. I take this lesson with me into every project.Things I love to work with- Cloud Computing (AWS and GCP primarily, but have tangentially worked in Azure)- Kubernetes (The future of the internet!)- CI/CD Automation and pipelines using technologies such as Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD, and others- Python, Golang- Supply Chain Security- GitOps- Monitoring and Observability platformsIn my spare time, I love to travel with my wife. We have visited France, Iceland, Greece, Hawaii, and Croatia. I enjoy beach time but also hiking and exploring, and learning about the culture and customs in foreign places.You might also find me reading sci-fi or fantasy, playing Magic: The Gathering or board games with friends, or listening to music; something I couldn\'t live without.
