ABOUT DEMIAN BETZ

Demian Betz is a seasoned financial services and securities industry professional and a highly skilled litigator. With extensive in-house, compliance, and risk management experience, Demian excels in transforming complex disputes into compelling narratives that achieve favorable outcomes for his clients. As an in-house counsel at Wells Fargo & Company and its predecessor Wachovia Corporation, Demian supported the firm’s wealth and investment management line business for eighteen years. During this time, he tried forty-five cases to conclusion at FINRA arbitration hearings across the United States, provided legal advice and training to wealth and investment management professionals on various legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risk management issues, teamed with compliance and regulatory professionals on a wide range of matters, and lead the transformation of the Wells Fargo legal department’s pro bono program. Demian taught English as a Second Language in South Korea and Indonesia after graduating from the University of Michigan and before attending the DePaul University College of Law. In his spare time, Demian is an avid cross-country mountain biker, runner, and triathlete. A lifelong Michigan Wolverines football and basketball fan, he also enjoys photography, used record stores, live music, art museums, good books, and traveling to new places with friends and family.
