Art & Culture is a corporate department of MGM Resorts International that was established to develop a multifaceted art program featuring MGMRI\'s Fine Art Collections and varied art-related offerings. Reflecting the company’s core values of inclusivity and diversity, MGM Resorts Art & Culture aims to create unique, accessible experiences for all audiences. Art is prevalent throughout MGM Resorts distinctive world-class brands including Bellagio, ARIA, Vdara, MGM Grand, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas; as well as MGM National Harbor outside of Washington, D.C, MGM Springfield in Massachusetts, and internationally at MGM MACAU and MGM COTAI. As the Head of Art & Culture, I lead the development and execution of an art strategy that furthers larger Company-wide objectives, including diversity and inclusion; act as in-house art advisor offering expert insight on high value transactions and partnerships; define and execute the governance and protocols for art acquisitions/deaccessions; structure and negotiate artist proposals and project budgets to optimize asset value and visitor experience; identify, develop and maintain key partnerships and relationships that create and enhance brand awareness and strengthen the company’s status within the exclusive art community.

ABOUT DEMECINA GRAY

Demecina Gray is a Las Vegas-based cultural producer and art administrator whose work focuses on elevating the art and voices of underrepresented communities and cultivating intersectional safe spaces for dialogue and expression. During her fifteen-year career, she has developed high-level projects, curated exhibitions, activated multiple artist residencies, and managed a multimillion-dollar corporate fine art collection. Throughout her career, Gray has architected organizational structure where there was none. She holds a M.A. in Museum and Exhibition Studies from University of Illinois - Chicago and a B.F.A in sculpture from School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Currently, she is the head of MGM Resorts Art & Culture, and an executive board member of Southern Nevada Arts Coalition.
