Fortunate Futures is a nonprofit organization that works in conjunction with the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board to assist job seekers in securing employment. Fortunate Futures is located in the Milwaukee Enterprise Center North. Fortunate Futures is a state approved training provider and has an individualized training account with the State of Wisconsin Job Center. Fortunate Futures has a mission of combating poverty from three angles. Fortunate Futures approaches this complex issue from the aspects of providing job training, employment, and providing affordable housing to Milwaukee County Residents. The philosophy of Fortunate Futures is that once individuals become financially stable though employment they can pursue other loftier aspirations. Fortunate Futures also realizes that even after finding employment the costs of daily living may still leave the family in poverty. In addressing affordable housing Fortunate Futures plans to empower the family to become secure so members can pursue higher education, which will lead to a better standard of living. Through its daycare Fortunate Futures plans to offer employment opportunities to some of its participants, while also making it\'s job training program more accessible to the students.
