ABOUT DELPHINE HALGAND-MISHRA

Purposeful leader with over 15 years of experience in journalism, human rights and tech accountability.As the Founding Executive Director of The Signals Network, runs the international operations of the not-for-profit which aim is to support whistleblowers and help coordinate international media investigations that speak out against corporate misconduct and human rights abuses. Actively supports dozens of whistleblowers across the world, especially in the tech sector, on the biggest media stories of our time, including Big Tech, corruption,#MeToo, health hazards and more published in international media outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, ProPublica, The Guardian, Le Monde, BBC, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, El Mundo and The New Yorker. As North America Director of Reporters Without Borders, the world\'s largest press freedom organization, built unprecedented worldwide coalitions with hundreds of media and human rights organizations. Created highly innovative print and digital communication strategies to grow revenue, drive public policy change, and free detained reporters. Unique personal network of prominent journalists, media executives, Internet companies executives, human rights activists and government officials all over the world. Guest lectured at Stanford, Harvard, Yale, UCLA and Georgetown University on global communications, information access, and freedom of the press issues. Regular interviewee on TV (CNN, Fox News, BBC.) & public speaker at the UN and US Congress. Awarded prestigious James W. Foley American Hostage Freedom Award and multiple US National Press Club awards for her work on freedom of the press issues and supporting American journalists hostage abroad.
