ABOUT DELON CHAN

Delon Chan was appointed Edmonton Head of Office of the Alberta & Northwest Territories Regional Office of the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service in September 2024. The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS), which is part of Global Affairs Canada, helps Canadian businesses grow with confidence by connecting them with funding and support programs, international opportunities, and our network of trade commissioners in over 160 cities worldwide. Delon leads the Energy and Cleantech team of Alberta & Northwest Territories Regional Office which assists companies in the oil & gas, petrochemicals, emissions reduction, carbon capture, hydrogen, clean energy, energy storage, critical minerals water/wastewater, and remediation sectors in export market development and innovation opportunities including; raising venture capital. Previously, Delon was a Canadian diplomat in the United States for 14 years in 3 consecutive diplomatic postings. Most recently he was the Consul and Head of Office of the Consulate of Canada in Houston where he led a team that promoted Canadian trade, investment, and innovation in the oil & gas, energy, and clean energy transition sectors. Before that Delon was Consul & Trade Commissioner, leading Foreign Direct Investment Attraction & Innovation Programs, at the Consulate General\'s of Canada in Detroit and Dallas. Previous to that he was the Senior Marketing and Trade Officer with Agriculture and Agri-food Canada where he assisted western Canadian companies in exporting their agricultural products and in commercialization of their agricultural technologies. Delon has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Honours) from the University of Manitoba with a double major in finance and marketing and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
