ABOUT DELMARIE ALICEA

I am a bilingual civil rights attorney with extensive experience in litigation, legal advocacy, and community engagement. My work is rooted in advancing racial, electoral, and immigrants’ rights through strategic litigation and policy reform. As Senior Counsel at LatinoJustice PRLDEF, I contribute to impact litigation challenging voter suppression, racial gerrymandering, and violations of the Voting Rights Act and Constitution at both the state and federal level.I bring a deep commitment to equity and access, with a background in immigration law, voting rights, and disaster-related legal aid. I have worked directly with clients and communities affected by systemic injustice conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, preparing discovery, collaborating with expert witnesses, and supporting clients through litigation and advocacy efforts. I also lead and participate in “know your rights” trainings, community outreach, and coalition work in both English and Spanish.I’m passionate about using the law as a tool for justice and empowerment. I approach my work with both legal precision and cultural competence, helping bridge the gap between legal systems and the people they’re meant to serve.Licensed to practice in Florida, including the Federal Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts and the Eleventh Circuit.
