About Delisa Somoye

I am currently working as a Delivery Lead at Arundo Analytics, a startup operating in industrial spaces such as O&G, refining/chemicals, manufacturing, and maritime. My role includes project management, pre-sales, and serving as an SME in chemical and O&G products and conversations.I completed my Master’s in Management and Professional Certificates in Strategic Management and Finance at Harvard University in May 2018, which aligned with my goal of moving into business development/management. While in school, I worked as a Project Engineer for PInnacleART performing corrosion/reliability analysis on equipment and piping to ensure API compliance in various process/manufacturing facilities in the US.With ConocoPhillips, I worked as a Production Engineer in the South Texas Lobo asset. I managed about 700 wells and performed remedial projects, identified and selected candidates for artificial lift installation, optimized wells, and conducted production modeling. I then transitioned to a Subsurface Project Lead in Eagle Ford, to gain field experience on unconventional wells and compliment the knowledge I gained in my last role. I supervised and lead downhole projects to ensure safe and efficient project execution.I graduated from Rice University in 2012, majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and minoring in Business. I also conducted post graduate studies (in sixteen countries) through Semester at Sea - sponsored by University of Virginia. At Rice, I was a member of and held various leadership positions (e.g. Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, etc) in a number of organizations: NSBE, RASA, Rice Cheerleading, SWE, ELA, AIChE, NSCS, and XSEDE.I interned with ConocoPhillips in summer \'11 as a Production Engineer. My main project was on plunger lift and intermitter gas well optimization. It was my first exposure to the O&G industry and provided a great learning experience. My last semester at Rice, I performed Undergraduate Research in the metabolic engineering of cancer cells. In summer \'12, I returned to ConocoPhillips for a second internship as a Facilities/Process Engineer in Odessa, TX. I worked on a waterflood consolidation and a plant optimization.
