I am forever grateful to the Dairy Council of Nevada for the incredible work experience and life skills it has instilled in me over the years. It\'s the job that turned me from a fresh-faced college graduate into the confident, resourceful, and resilient businesswoman I am today.Here are some of my day-to-day activities working for our Nevada Dairy Farmers:* Brainstorming, budgeting, planning, executing, and manning several pop-up booths around Las Vegas throughout the year designed to educate young families on healthy eating habits. From fun farming games, to pictures with our mascot \"Daisy the Cow,\" to giving away copious amount of cow print merchandise - I\'ve perfected the art of drawing families in at local community events and making sure they walk away with something of value after interacting with my team.* Writing for and appearing on local news outlets as a go-to dairy expert. My high school improvisation classes have been a huge help here. I love the adrenaline of \"doing it live.\" Plus - I have the opportunity to reach thousands of people at once, teaching them something new! Pretty cool.* Providing in-services to various Las Vegas clinical staff, teaching them everything there is to know about dairy products and how these foods relate to their unique patient populations. I\'ve educated WIC teams, physicians, nurses, and fellow dietitians. I love getting into weeds of nutrition research. It almost makes me want to go to medical school. But only almost.* Translating evidence-based nutrition recommendations into key messages for small children and young families that are FUN and RELATABLE. People don\'t remember, let alone internalize, health recommendations if they can\'t understand and connect with what\'s in front of them. I love this translation aspect of my job.
