About Del Smith

A native of Los Angeles, Del Smith is currently a student at USC Gould School of Law. Previously, he was a Legislative Deputy for the Los Angeles City Council. In his role, Smith is responsible for developing policy and legislation to make Los Angeles a more diverse and inclusive city for all. Before entering his current role, he was a California State Senate Fellow, where he worked for Senator Anna Caballero, who represents California\'s 12th Senate District. During his time in Senator Caballero\'s office, Smith was responsible for carrying legislation that focused on improving children\'s safety, updating California\'s cannabis policy, and improving transportation policy within the Central Valley of California. Further, Smith served as the Senator\'s Communications Director, where he sent media briefs and monthly newsletters to constituents to keep them informed on during the legislative year. Smith graduated from Magna Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University (LMU), receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. While on campus, Smith served as a Resident Advisor for three years. Additionally, he served as the Senator for Diversity and Inclusion for LMU\'s student government his senior year.
