Del Bern joined Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc.(SGH) in 2006. With over thirty years’ experience in the construction industry, Del has acquired extensive experience in construction management, risk management, and project (person-in-charge) experience for various project types (i.e, healthcare, retail, education, hotel, and public works facilities). This experience enables him to provide creative solutions and insightful advice on industry practices. The years of project coordination related to individual work trades, contracts, design teams, schedules, safety, finances, purchasing, estimating, bidding, quality assurance, permitting, risk management, and owner occupancy/turnover, exemplify his commitment and expertise in the processes of well-planned projects. In addition, Del is a specialist in the design and construction of building-enclosure materials and systems, in construction including wood-framed, cast in place, precast, structural steel, and masonry structures with forms of exterior cladding (i.e, stucco, EIFS, metal panels, windows, masonry, curtain walls), plaza/terrace decks waterproofing, roofs systems, and below-grade waterproofing. This experience includes the specification, selection, installation, and testing of these building components. Del also has experience in the investigation and remediation of building-enclosure deficiencies of existing buildings.
