About Deirdre McKay

Deirdre \"Didi\" McKay is an author (see didimckaybooks.com), educator, program creator, artist and wellness advocate. As a creativity expert, Didi guides individuals and groups into their integrated selves, using both logical and creative expressions. She brings her programs to schools, libraries and classrooms. Some of the programs she has developed are The Self Care Chair, which includes yoga and meditation, Introduction to Chinese Face Reading, and the Transition and Transformation coaching system for creative women on a change track. As a children\'s museum educator Didi created hundreds of programs and activities, integrating early learning and literary protocols, inquiry-based learning and fun! Her most recent children\'s book is Monkey Belle\'s Dream (November 2020). Didi coaches creative, spiritual women to complete artistic projects as they find their authentic selves and bring more of what they love into their lives. As an online content creator, Didi\'s courses include Introduction to Chinese Face Reading; Communicating with \'Power; and her Transition and Transformation (TnT) coaching system. As a writer, fine artist and educator, Didi has developed hundreds of museum programs and activities, especially in culture, the sciences, and fine arts. A team leader in the children\'s museum field, Deirdre mentored students, educators, wellness enthusiasts, teachers, and museum staff. Her newest children\'s book is Monkey Belle\'s Dream, published by the Balboa division of Hay House International. As the founder of Scrollart.net, Didi launched a unique fine art specialty - She also currently authors and publishes children\'s books. She has run wellness and intuitive-creativity workshops and retreats, most recently in Spain, and teaches therapeutic yoga to special needs children. In 2016, McKay was a contributing social media provider residing in France, for La Muse writers\' and artists\' retreat. Formerly a magazine writer based in Manhattan, McKay now continues to write the Gifts children\'s book series, including the children\'s book Gifts of the Animals and Gifts of the Seas. Deirdre is proficient at learning and growing on the job, and managing creative projects. She has been featured in the New York Times for her contributions as a partner in a children\'s book and product start-up which she helped launch at FAO Schwartz. As an editor and journalist for eight years in New York at Fairchild, then a division of ABC Inc, she was a section editor and produced photo shoots.
